Project Life: Weeks 4 and 5

Welcome back! Time for another installment of "Julie's Project Life".

haha. Yeah. OK...

Week 4:

I didn't have many pictures for this week so I did a one page layout.

Super simple title card that looks more difficult than it is. It's just a 4X6 card from Project Life's "Kraft" edition. I added a 3X4 card horizontally to put the camera sticker on. I just sewed around it. Then I put a leftover scrap of blue striped paper to put the week stickers on. The "5" is actually a blue sticker that I colored black. Added the date stamps and that's it.

I wanted to show you how easy it is to customize your cards for whatever your purpose. This striped paper is actually the back of the card I made for Reed's birthday party spread. HERE  I thought it would have been fine to use if only the stripe was red instead of orange. So I got out my red washi tape and cut it in half and covered the orange stripes. Easy.

Week 5:

For this week I used only the "Kraft" edition again.

This title card was actually a mistake. I had forgotten to leave a pocket open for a title so I just added some letter stickers and elements on top of this picture.

I turned a 3x4 card horizontal and tucked it under a picture and then sewed it down.

For this card I made a banner (Check out how I did that HERE) and just anchored it with a bit of teal washi tape.

The bottom 2 pockets are both picture collages I created so I could fit more pictures from my nephew's birthday party. I used this little knight that my SIL had in the take home treats. It was actually attached to a toothpick and so I just twisted it to get it to come off of it.

There you go! Weeks 4 & 5 are in the books, literally. :)

Reed is Dino-Mite!

First and foremost, I can't even believe that my baby is 2 years old already. (Don't even get me started on my 6 year old)

For Reed's party we decided to do a dinosaur theme because he really likes to play with the ones we have at home. Let's be honest, it's super cute when he roars too. :)

So I got to browsing Pinterest and found THEE CUTEST dinosaur tail I have ever seen. Then I found a super cute shirt I could do with Chase.  Now I'm not going to do a tutorial on these because there's no reason to. Here's the link for the Dinosaur Tail and Dinosaur Spiked Sweatshirt.

Now, I am the first to admit that sewing is not my strong point. I actually sew more on paper than I do on fabric. :) The hoodie was SUPER easy and the tail wasn't too bad.

Here's how they turned out:

So cute right?!

I found these dinosaur hats at Dollar Tree of all places, and a lot of other little things for the treat bags and such.

I had these chalkboard labels from a couple years ago. I added them to cardstock and  wrote Herbivores and Carnivores next to the food.

We had Dino eggs (Grapes) and Dinosaur tails (Carrots and celery sticks) along with Dinosaur chicken nuggets. We also got a 3 foot sub.

I also had the boys' dinosaur toys and books around the tables for decoration.

Here's a video of the night:

Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's Day Mantel

Hello all!
So I finally have all of our Christmas decorations down and put away and now everything is bare and sad looking. So I decided to get a head start of some Valentine's Day decorating!

This heart banner I made using a tutorial I found through Pinterest HERE

I used this card from the Kraft Edition of Project Life to put behind the 4. I also added some ribbon to the top of the jar.

I used some old scrabble times and glue dots to put in this frame.

I put one of our engagement pictures in this frame and added a ribbon to the candle.

I also put up this Willow Tree figurine. This is called Promise.

This banner I made with just some scrapbooking supplies.

The red and white polka dot cards are again Project Life cards from the Kraft Edition. The alphabet cards are from a pack of cards from BazzillBets. Old cards that I don't even think are available anymore.

So there we go!

(If you want to check out how I decorated the mantel for Christmas and the Fall, check that out HERE and HERE)

Project Life 2014 Title Page

This week I have been one crafty gal! I made a couple "costumes" for my 2 year old's birthday party, I got my Valentine's Day mantle put together (Look for that post early next week) HERE and I managed to get my title page done for PL!

Title page:

I sewed on this little tag and added stickers spelling "Reduce" which is my one little word for this year. For more info on One Little Word click HERE

I put these little tags on each of our pictures. They are the first letter of our names and our ages for this year. I got this idea from Ali Edwards.

I decided to add our cats to my page this year. The Hennecke card I cut out the middle and glued some plastic wrapping behind. I then added the stickers and sewed a piece of patterned paper on the back so it would look kind of 3D.

I found this card on Pinterest from HERE

I sewed on these little flags that I found at Michael's

That's it! Stay tuned for more....

Project Life: December Edition

Here it is! The last month of 2013.
I can't believe I stuck with it all year. Those who know me personally, know I have a tendency to start something and not finish it.

I had so much fun doing Project Life. I'm so glad I did it and can't wait to continue on this year. It's a good feeling knowing that even though I haven't been "scrapping" all my pictures, they are still organized in an album. The simple embellishing and decorating are just enough to satisfy my creative side. :)

So here we go!

Week 50: (Left side)

For the title card this week I used an image I found on Pinterest. Obviously this week was when we started decorating for Christmas.

I had Chase write out a list of things he might like to get for Christmas. It still cracks me up that he put socks. :)

(Right side):

Very simple side using mainly paper product. The "20 days left" card is a printable I found HERE

Week 51 (Left side):

This side is about the first real snowfall of the season. It was so bad they even cancelled church that Sunday. (It was more because of ice not the snow) So the boys were pretty excited to go outside and play in it.

This could be one of my favorite cards I've made for PL. I just love how it turned out. The yellowish/greenish pattern on this layout is actually washi tape. It's my first time really experimenting with it and I LOVE IT! :)
The blue printable was found HERE

(Right side):

This side was super simple. I just added 2 different cards. The funny face one I drew an arrow on and the blue one I stamped on a Christmas tree using silver ink.

Week 52 (left side):

This is the first spread that I only used a Project Life kit to make my cards. I don't think it will be something I'll do again, but it still turned out OK.

This week wasn't really a Christmas theme so I thought it would be a good time to try it out. It definitely made the process go faster because I could just grab a card and go.
This is the Kraft Core Kit.

OK Now these next couple spreads are all from within a couple days. I knew I would have way too many photos of our Christmas get togethers to add to a regular spread. So they each got there own spread.

Christmas Eve:

Christmas morning:

( I wish I could find where I got the green and red Christmas printables but I can't)
The other Christmas themed embellishments are from many years ago.

Christmas afternoon/evening:

We went to my dad's side of the family (Over 30 people) and then in the evening we went to Ben's side of the family. The little cut out the cradle is from a Christmas card we received many years ago.

I used a ChicTag to add a little journaling.

The red snowflake is an ornament cut down a little bit.

Cookie making and gingerbread men/train making.

This little card is an Artist Trading Card from The Paper Studio and the tag is from K&Co.

New Year's Eve/last page:

I used cards from the Kraft core edition again.

The "snug as a bug in a rug!" tag is actually a rub-on that I just rubbed onto white cardstock and cut it out.

I added some date stamps to wrap up the year!

So there we go! 2013 is in the books. (No pun intended!)

I'm working on a title page for my 2014 album now. So excited to start a new year!
